He can’t teach you how to be Batman but Jacob Kness is willing to work as a butler for free in exchange for a bed by the bay.
The Beaconsfield baker made the unusual offer on social media after failing to find a room to rent on the Mornington Peninsula.
“I know offering to be a butler is an unusual suggestion but my intentions are pure,” he said.”
“I am sure I would bring more value to your lives in means of support around the house and friendly companionship then I would paying for a room.”
The 26-year-old said he had always loved the beach and was particularly taken with the “energy and morale” of coastal towns.
“I’m a modern day hippie. I am a bit of a ginger and have a love-hate relationship with the sun, but the beach has always been very grounding for me.
Despite never working as a butler before Mr Kness reckons he has all the skills needed.
“I can cook, I’m a qualified baker/ bakery manager, trained barista, knowledgeable in health and fitness.”
He has up-to-date police and working with children checks and can chew the fat on any topic.
“I can hold a deep philosophical conversation as I spend most of my spare time geeking out about things most people do want to think about,” he said.
If that’s not enough to persuade the locals Mr Kness also promised free doughnuts from his market stall every Sunday.
However, he has drawn the line at helping potential masters fight crime.
“I cannot teach you how to be Batman but I do come with a half cast English accent.”
