SHEREE Beasley has been remembered at a vigil, 24 years after her tragic and brutal murder.
Decorated with purple and pink balloons, Sheree’s two favourite colours, the vigil was held at her grave at the Mornington Cemetery in Mt Martha yesterday.
Sheree was riding her pink bike in Rosebud on June 29, 1991 when known paedophile Robert Arthur Selby Lowe abducted, raped and murdered her.
He later dumped her lifeless body in a concrete drain in Red Hill, where she remained for three months until someone stumbled across her remains.

A poem was read for Sheree at the emotionally charged vigil, and flowers laid at her headstone before a handful of purple and pink balloons were let into the air.
Sheree’s mother, Kerri Greenhill, now lives in South Australia and was unable to attend yesterday’s ceremony.
Karen Willis helped to organise the vigil after Sheree’s mother put out a call for someone to place flowers at the grave on Facebook.
She said the vigil was an “overwhelming” sign of community spirit.
“I read a poem out on Kerri’s behalf. We all put ourselves in Kerri’s shoes as a mother, father or grandparent of a child,” she said.
“The Mornington and surrounding areas all came together for Kerri and Sheree — great community spirit.”
