There’s a lot of love for local butchers on the Mornington Peninsula.
A vote to find the overall and favourite has ended with a three-way tie.
Readers were unable to separate Peninsula Bulk Meats, Greg’s Family Gourmet Butcher and Somerville Village Meats.
All three businesses received 28.57 per cent of the vote.
Greg’s Family Butcher has been in business for about 20 years, specialising in high quality, naturally grown beef, lamb and pork products.
The Point Nepean Rd business run by Greg Goss also prides itself on “traditional, old-fashioned friendly service”.
Another Rosebud entry – Peninsula Bulk Meats – shared top spot in the vote thanks in part to regular specials including T-bone steaks for $23.99 a kilo and fresh turkey breasts with stuffing at $22.99 per kg.
Meanwhile it was the ham at Somerville Village Meats helped put butcher Phil Revell at the top.
Customers raved about his smoked goods and said the Christmas ham produced by the Eramosa Rd, East business was the best they had ever tasted.
