A “Pandoras Box” of criminal offending has been allegedly been revealed in an unassuming Box Hill short-stay property, police say.
Police on Thursday charged a 26-year-old Edithvale man after they raided a Thames St rental and found 70 identity cards, an allegedly stolen car with, a home-modified firearm and 50g of meth.
The man, who will appear at the Ringwood Magistrate’s Court on April 29, is alleged to have used a fraudulent bank cheque to buy a $28,000 “luxury” car, and used a stolen credit card to pay for his $2800 accommodation.
He will be charged with possessing meth and cannabis, obtaining property by deception, and possessing a firearm, among other offences.
Detective Sergeant Gerald Muileman said it was a “Pandoras Box” of alleged offending.
“This serves as a warning to all the wood-be criminals out there that you cannot slip under our radar,” Sgt Muileman said.
