A collectivised community hub for health and wellness is set to open in Melbourne’s southeast, bringing GPs, gyms and the grocery store all into one convenient location.

Maybloom has been specifically developed on Matterhorn Drive in Clyde North as a one-stop shop to make access to health care, wellness services and grocery shopping more convenient for the community.

Set to launch in May, Maybloom is still looking for six local businesses to join its growing cohort of ‘partners’, offering tailor-made packages of up to $300,000 to help with the transition into the space.

Taking advantage of the dynamic growth corridor, the Maybloom hub will be the first of its kind in the southeastern suburbs.

Spread across three buildings, the hub will include a designated medical centre, a retail centre and a four-storey allied health and specialist centre.

According to Maybloom’s managing director, Michael Tiemens, the ‘Maybloom model’ is offering a unique experience for the Clyde North community.

“We want this centre to become a part of the natural fibres of the community, so it’s a place where the community can craft the centre for themselves,” he said.

Mr Tiemens said that collectivising services, bringing personal training and pilates studios alongside GPs, psychologists, dentists and optometrists in the same vicinity as organic grocers and healthy hospitality venues, would remove the stress of the traditional commute between these services.

“What often happens is that necessary, everyday health care services sit at one end of the suburb, and the gym or grocery stores sit at the other end,” Mr Tiemens said.

“People then have to make the conscious decision on doing specific tasks on particular days, rather than just being able to do them all in one day.”

“We are bringing all of these services collectively together, so it’s more accessible and convenient for people to prioritise their health.”

The holistic space is offering local businesses moving grants, exposure from the neighbouring services that have already made a home in Maybloom, and access to business marketing and mentoring support.

“The benefit that Maybloom offers, is that every business inside the hub offers complementary services to each other, meaning each service elevates another, and vice versa,” Mr Tiemens said.
