Noble Park: Man arrested and charged after taxi ploughs into house

A teenager has been charged after an allegedly stolen taxi crashed into a home in Noble Park, with two people lucky to escape injury.

Two people were lucky to escape injury after an allegedly stolen taxi crashed into a Noble Park home early on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to reports a car had crashed into a home on the corner of Athol and Corrigan roads about 2.45am.

Investigators were told after driving into the house, the driver of the taxi allegedly ditched it and took off on foot before police arrived.

Police patrolled the area and a short time later found a man, out of breath, near the intersection of Corrigan and Cheltenham roads.

An 18-year-old Noble Park man has been arrested and charged with several offences including theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, drive manner dangerous and unlicensed driving.

The two people inside the home at the time of the crash were uninjured.

Police believe the car involved was stolen.

The man has been bailed to appear in Dandenong Magistrates’ Court later this year.
