Man charged after dumping allegedly stolen truck in Frankston

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a truck and was tracked down in an underground carpark.

A 37-year-old man has been charged after an allegedly stolen tip truck was dumped in Frankston on Monday morning.

Detectives noticed the Hino tip truck, which was allegedly stolen from a Highett address, driving around Keysborough about 2.15am Monday.

Police called in the air wing which was able to follow the truck until it drove into an underground car park off Cranbourne Rd in Frankston.

Police swarmed the car park including members of the dog squad.

A search was conducted and a 37-year-old Frankston man was arrested nearby.

He has since been charged with burglary, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and driving whilst disqualified.

He was bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court later this year.
