A man allegedly whipped a young girl with a belt so many times that she began to vomit and bleed, a court has heard.

Mamoon Ter Tuol, 44, fronted the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday following the shocking alleged incident on January 12 last year.

The court heard Tuol was allegedly at home in Melbourne’s southeast with the 12-year-old when he instructed her to turn on the television.

The girl allegedly refused, staying in her room, before Tuol allegedly dragged her out to the living room by her arm.

The child allegedly huddled near a wall as Tuol removed the belt from his pants and struck her multiple times.

Tuol continued to hit the girl until her nose began to bleed and she started vomiting, police allege.

The girl was taken to a medical clinic by a family member suffering swelling and bruising on her shoulders and neck however the guardian did not detail the incident to the doctor.

The clinic informed authorities shortly after, leading police to arrest Tuol on March 12.

Tuol, who is on bail, was charged with common law assault and is expected to plead guilty when the hearing continues on May 3.
