Trailblazing craft brewers Karen and Dave Golding are selling their iconic Red Hill microbrewery.

The pair were among the earliest craft brewers in Australia and led the charge on the Mornington Peninsula when they founded Red Hill Brewery in 2005.

On Wednesday they announced they were moving on from the independent brewery and hoped to find new owners to be the next “passionate custodians” of great beer and the Mornington Peninsula community and environment.

““As our family have grown up, and our business matured, we are looking toward our future and think after all this time we have a few more goals in our lives to look forward to,” Ms Golding said.

“Hopefully a semi-retirement and travelling is on the cards for our future.”

The sale is being managed by Kay and Burton who are now taking expressions of interest.

The 2ha property at 88 Shoreham Road, which is also known as 6 Cherry Road, is located within the green wedge zone and includes a rare permit to operate as a brewery.

Its agricultural classification also allows for the growing of hops which are used for the award-winning beer brewed at the property.

There is also a renovated three bedroom private cottage on site with a private courtyard and outdoor entertaining area separate to the brewery’s main building cluster.

The brewery has a general liquor licence and beer garden which allows for a full range of beverages to be served.
