Kingston councillor Cameron Howe mulling a move to modelling

This councillor’s Insta feed is packed with pouty poses and shirtless snaps. Is he our hottest pollie?

He’s not about to join Only Fans but Cam Howe is claiming the title of Melbourne’s sexiest councillor.

The Kingston councillor’s Instagram feed is full of pouty poses at bayside eateries and shirtless snaps on the beach.

He joked that his new “title” might be “a bit much”.

“But maybe I have the X factor?” he said.

“At 184cm, I am wondering whether I should have a tilt at modelling as my next move!”

Mr Howe, 30, was confident he would take the title over his closest competition Frankston mayor Nathan Conroy, who was dubbed Melbourne’s sexiest mayor in January.

“The mayor of Franger? I can cover him easily.”

While he may be willing to trade on his looks Mr Howe insisted he’s not just a pretty face.

Since entering local government three years ago his ward, which takes in Carrum, Patterson Lakes and Bonbeach has been transformed by $30m of community investment.

Projects including the redevelopment of Roy Dore Reserve in Patterson Lakes, upgrades to Bonbeach Reserve, the redevelopment of Carrum Surf Life Saving Club, CCTV at Carrum foreshore and carparks and a new school crossing at Patterson Lakes Primary.

The investment is more than the three suburbs – which make up the gateway to the bay – have seen in the past 20 years,” Mr Howe said.

Mr Howe, who entered a self portrait in the 2024 Archibald Prize, was also leading the charge on a bold plan to transform the Patterson River walking trail with public art.

The first scultpure, a piece by artist Anton Hassle, will be installed mid-year at the Beauty Spot riverside park at Carrum.

Mr Howe said his vision of a “vibrant sculpture trail celebrating local boating lifestyle and boating culture” would be funded by the council.

“A percentage of the capital works budget will be dedicated to the project each year. We’re talking about around $2.5m a year,” he said.

Mr Howe said he was yet to decide if he would run again at the 2024 council elections in October.

“I have no doubt the community is behind me and I am considering another term.”

However, he has definitely ruled out an Only Fans career.

“I have standards,” he said.
