A BRAVE woman captured an image of a man moments before he attacked her outside Karingal Hub Shopping Centre.

The 28-year-old woman confronted the man after returning to her car to find him sitting in the driver’s seat, going through the glovebox.

Det Leading Senior Constable Frank Olle said the man took a screwdriver from the glovebox, walked towards the woman and threatened her.

He said the man pushed the woman over and stomped on her phone in a deliberate attempt to destroy it before fleeing.

But police were still able to retrieve the photo from the phone.

The man stole jewellery, cigarettes and screwdrivers from the Holden Barina.

He is described as tall and skinny, caucasian and in his 30s.

The incident occurred on September 4 about 8am.

Anyone who knows the man should contact Det Leading Senior Constable Olle on 9784 5560 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
