AN ALLEGEDLY lousy landscaper who police say ripped off three Peninsula property owners of around $70,000 for work that was never done has appeared in court.
Investigators believe the dishonest horticulturist targeted homes in Crib Point, Balnarring and Mornington, quoted for extensive works, took cash deposits but never came back to do the graft.

Balnarring 37-year-old Jarrad Garth appeared in Frankston Magistrates’ Court yesterday, pleading not guilty to 11 deception-related charges.
Court documents allege in September and October last year Mr Garth fleeced a total of $37,000 from a Mornington property owner by taking money for work that was never done.
Over four separate occasions he is alleged to have asked for cash for equipment and materials for landscaping work, but not done any of it.
On September 8 he allegedly took $5000, on September 12 another $7000, then $13,000 on September 15 and a further $12,000 on October 5.
His alleged scamming started in June the year before, when he allegedly took nearly $25,000 from a Crib Point garden lover.
He has also been charged with deceiving $6210 from a Balnarring owner in October last year.
His defence lawyer said Mr Garth refuted the allegations of dishonesty and refuted the amounts of money said to be involved.

He said there were aspects of the case that remained in dispute.
Magistrate Timothy Gattuso said significant amounts of money were involved and was happy to give the police and the defence time to investigate further as required.
The case was adjourned until February 27 next year.
