THE Imperial Russian Ballet Company has a triple treat in store for Frankston.
Principal dancer Lina Seveliova said the ‘Russian Triple Bill’ show — featuring the fairy tale spectacular of Princess Aurora’s wedding from Sleeping Beauty, the romantic Les Sylphides and the electrifying Carmen — would wow audiences.
Seveliova, who has two main parts, said the show was challenging from both a physical and emotional perspective.
Seveliova added it was important for the performers to convey the emotion in the stories conveyed in the ballet.
Her skill, grace and finesse has earned her many awards including the prestigious ‘Contribution to the Department of Culture and Art in Moldova’.
Les Sylphides is a ballet about a young man who while walking at night encounters a group of sylphs or magical women.
Carmen features is a flirtatious and seductive gypsy woman whose love affair with two men ends in tragedy.
Performers will bring Princess Aurora’s wedding to life from the classic Sleeping Beauty when a holiday is declared for the wedding of Princess Aurora and Prince Desire.
See the Russian Triple Bill at Frankston Arts Centre on Wednesday, September 19.
