A mum of five hid a 2g bag of ice in her bra then tried to stuff the drugs in her mouth to try and conceal it from cops, a court has heard.

Nicole Lee Dremel had been arrested as a passenger in a stolen car and was being searched at Frankston police station when she attempted to orally hide the evidence.

But eagle-eyed officers were watching and she was arrested for drug possession.

The unemployed Frankston 30-year-old also refused a breath test while driving disqualified as a Learner without a licensed supervisor.

She pleaded guilty to drug, driving and bail breach charges at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

The court heard at 3am on April 13 this year Dremel was a passenger in a car pulled over by police in Frankston.

The car was found to be stolen, and she and the driver were arrested and taken back to Frankston police station for questioning.

While there Dremel was seen removing a small bag of white crystals from her bra.

As she tried to secrete it in her mouth officers pounced, uncovering the 2g bag of ice.

She gave a no comment interview to police.

And in February 2017, on Nepean Highway in Aspendale, Dremel’s car was pulled over for a routine check.

Officers discovered she was a disqualified learner with no supervisor, and she failed a preliminary breath test.

When asked to accompany officers to a station for an evidentiary sample she repeatedly refused, saying she wasn’t going to get out of the car.

Her defence lawyer said Dremel had longstanding issues with drugs but was now in a treatment program and had had six months of clean screens.

She said in the past her client had been a regular user of cannabis and a recreational ice smoker, but that had now ceased.

Magistrate Charles Tan said the driving matters were a long time ago, and it was pleasing she was now getting help for her substance issues.

“You are someone who has battled drug addiction before,” Mr Tan said.

“It is encouraging that you are engaged with the drug program.

“It is important you continue that program.”

Dremel was convicted and fined $600 and placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond.

She was also disqualified from driving for the mandatory minimum of two years.
