A Melbourne physiotherapist who allegedly sexually assaulted a female patient has fronted court again ahead of a hearing.
Hany “Harry” Bebawy, 45, fronted the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on July 12, facing two sexual assault charges after a patient reported him to the police.
Mr Bebawy was suspended by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia in April immediately after being charged.
Court documents revealed graphic accusations, where it has been alleged Mr Bebawy “sexually touched (the patient’s) nipples without consent” and “sexually touched her outer labia without consent”.
The allegations date back to November 2022.
Mr Bebawy has denied the accusations and fought the suspension in VCAT in June, where he was allowed to return to practice with the condition that he not “have contact with any female patients”.
Mr Bebawy runs three clinics in Melbourne – in Elwood, Elsternwick and Coburg.
On Friday, the court heard Mr Bebawy’s defence team raise concerns about the admissibility of certain prosecution evidence, while also seeking access to the alleged victim’s medical records.
Magistrate Luisa Bazzani granted a subpoena for a redacted version of the alleged victim’s documents to be given to the defence, and adjourned the matter for hearing.
Mr Bebawy is set to return to Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on October 29.
