Gethsemane Church to host inaugural Carols by Candlelight on Friday

CLYDE’S inaugural Carols by Candlelight, which was cancelled last weekend due to bad weather, is back on.

UPDATE: CLYDE’S inaugural Carols by Candlelight, which was cancelled last weekend due to bad weather, is back on.

The Gethsemane Church event will now be held on Friday from 5.30pm.

The night will include performances from Kerrigan La-Brooy, Derrick Junkeer, the Triple Treat Talent Academy, the Gethsemane Church team, Mel Manuel, Lisa Ann, Lighthouse Hampton Park, Noami Horsley, Ebony Portelli and Andrew Portelli.

Children can tell Santa what they want for Christmas and there will also be giveaways and a $500 voucher for Barry Bourke Motors and a $600 photography voucher from Viva Photography up for grabs.

Gethsemane Church pastor Kerrigan La-Brooy said he unfortunate cancellation, interest in the event had only increased.

“The vision, mission, passion and heart of Gethsemane Church is to serve the community and since Clyde has never had its own Carols by Candlelight we wanted to inaugurate this and make it an annual event,” he said.

“There will definitely be a blend of carols and usually nothing beats the traditional festive tunes like Silent Night, ‘O Holy Night, When a Child is Born and Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.

“Santa will definitely be there, swapping his sleigh for a fire truck.”

There will be plenty of food available, including a sausage sizzle, coffee van, ice-cream, popcorn, slushies, cakes, plus Thai, Indian, Dutch and Italian food.

Clyde Carols by Candlelight will be held at the Hillcrest Christian College Oval, 500 Soldiers Rd, Clyde North, from 5.30-9pm.
