A utopian wonderland awaits adventurous kids at a new play centre at Carrum Downs.

Funtopia is the biggest indoor adventure play centre in the country, and preparations are in the final stage before doors open in October.

Featuring the world’s safest and most technically advanced climbing walls, ‘funtopians’ can

climb to their heart’s content across 2500sq m of activities including 40 wall challenges, a skyscraper walk and “leap of faith”.

Parents can tuck in to the seasonally inspired menu at centre cafe Mr Spriggins while little ones climb into the clouds on Jack’s beanstalk, scale across brick towers, and extinguish fires in a burning building rescue mission.

The custom-built walls are fully interchangeable and interactive to meet all skill sets, with staff trained to help juniors build self-confidence and overcome their fears.

The centre’s safety-first self-clip devices are the world’s most advanced and do not allow for disengagement unless the climber is safely on the ground.

Funtopia also pays homage to iconic landmarks including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Great Barrier Reef and Eureka Tower.

Co-founder Leo Neophytou said the team was proud of the final product at Carrum Downs and was looking forward to kickstarting its next project in Adelaide.

There is also a slightly smaller Funtopia play centre in Maidstone.

“It’s really special to see families having fun together safely on our designs through active entertainment,” he said.

“Without a doubt, the team’s most rewarding moment is when we see kids achieve what they thought was not possible.

“It makes all the obstacles we go through while designing and building an attraction or facility worthwhile.”

All-day passes start at $14 per person with school, party and public holiday packs available.
