Roweana Adcock, of Drouin, said she was shocked after visiting Shell Coles Express on the corner of Princes Highway and Clyde Rd in Berwick about 11am this morning, where unleaded fuel was $1.57 a litre.

Phillip Camilleri, of Broadmeadows, told the Leader the fuel price hikes were ridiculous.
“It’s just hit nearly $2.13 for Unleaded 98 at most of my local servos yet we’re buying fuel at $44 a gallon — cheapest it’s ever been,” he said.
Hundreds of people took to Yarra Valley and Police Activity and Accidents — Melbourne noticeboards on Facebook to express anger over skyrocketing fuel prices.
Yarra Valley Noticeboard member Anja said she was upset by increasing fuel prices in Melbourne.
“It’s very frustrating and time consuming as I can only pay the usual amount and wait for the price to go down again,” she said.
Police Activity and Accidents — Melbourne noticeboard member Dianne said she saw prices of $1.56 at Woolworths Murray Rd in Preston on Thursday.
While member John said: “Just filled up with Unleaded 98 for $150.7 at Derrimut Caltex”.
A Coles spokesman, who refused to be named, said the company always sought to provide competitive fuel prices to customers.
“In addition to the 4 cents per litre fuel discount voucher received when spending a minimum $30 in Coles supermarkets, customers can also save 10 cents per litre by spending a minimum $20 in Coles Express stores,” he said.
“The discounts can be used separately or combined to save a total of 14 cents per litre.”
A Woolworths spokesperson, who refused to be named, said Woolworths always aimed to be competitive in the local fuel market.
“We monitor fuel prices regularly and are focused on ensuring we deliver great quality, service and value to our customers,” the spokesperson said.
