FRV and CFA crews remain at scene to extinguish double garage fire in Pakenham

Fire crews have been called to battle two garage blazes in Pakenham with firefighters forced to wear breathing apparatus.

Fireys have spent hours battling two adjourning garage that have been engulfed by flames in Victoria’s southeast.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Balmoral Way in Pakenham just before 9am Thursday.

An FRV spokesman said crews arrived on scene within six minutes.

“Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked together to conduct an aggressive attack on the fire,” the spokesman said.

“Crews brought the scene under control at 8.55am, successfully preventing the fires from spreading beyond the garages.”

Crews remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said no emergency transport was required.
