A Frankston South small business owner has pleaded for the return of stolen goods after his Range Rover was ransacked and COVID-19 mask taken on Monday night.
Peninsula Painting Company owner and father of two Chris Carmona told the Leader he’d been left feeling “annoyed” after he discovered a thief rummaged through his car and took more than $1600 worth of goods including an iPad, Culture Kings mask and Louis Vuitton sunglasses.
Mr Carmona said he invested in the $60 anti-dust face mask as it helped him stay protected from coronavirus as he completed residential and commercial painting jobs each day.
The mesh mask features two filter valves as well as a replaceable active carbon filter and velcro closure.
“It’s just an inconvenience anything …(the offender) even left behind a packet of disposable masks which I’d left in the car,” Mr Carmona said.
The 46-year-old said he did not know how the offender got inside the car as there was no signs of forced entry, but believes they struck between 11pm on Monday and 6am Tuesday.
He will file a police report this afternoon.
Mr Carmona said he didn’t want the mask back but suggested the thief buys their own in the future.
“It’s annoying … the mask is sold out so I’ll have to find something else,” Mr Carmona said.
“But work has been busy … I’m really grateful for that.”
