A dodgy driver with a “shocker” of a history has been handed a big ban after he was caught yet again doped up behind the wheel.
Sam Telford pleaded guilty in Frankston Magistrates’ Court this week to careless and drug driving, and driving an unregistered car while high on both ice and cannabis.
The 27-year-old Frankston carpentry apprentice’s rap sheet reads like War and Peace, with multiple unlicensed, dangerous, disqualified, drug and drunk driving, speeding and failing to stop charges against his name.

The court heard alarmed motorists spotted Telford racing his Holden along EastLink in Carrum Downs on May 22 last year.
The P-plater tried to exit via an off-ramp too fast while overtaking a car on the left, losing control and ending up in a ditch.
He got out and shook himself off before leaving the scene, but other drivers had reported his actions to police and officers went around to his house.
Police drug-tested Telford, who returned a positive result for ice and cannabis. They discovered his car was unregistered and he didn’t hold a valid licence.
In court, Telford’s defence lawyer said he conceded his client had a very poor history but had completed alcohol and drug education programs since being released from prison in 2016.
He said Telford’s offending was due to a relapse after meeting up with old friends but his client was now clean.
Magistrate Leonard Brear described Telford’s history as “a shocker”.
“These offences demonstrate an attitude that hasn’t changed,” Mr Brear said.
“Your behaviour is a threat to others on the road.”
Telford was convicted and fined $2750 and disqualified from driving for four years.
He was told any more serious driving crimes would result in a significant jail term.
