A man has reappeared in court after he allegedly bashed his mate with a metal pole for singing a song.
Dorian Figgins appeared in the Frankston Magistrates Court on Monday after he was denied bail in September.
Mr Figgins is facing charges of assault and making a threat to kill after he allegedly threatened to cut the head off a homeless man.
The court heard Mr Figgins believed the man, who was homeless, had been stealing his mail and allegedly approached him on June 17 yelling and wielding a knife.
The court was told at his bail application he said, “If I catch you near my letterbox again I will cut your head off”.
The court then heard when questioned about the incident Mr Figgins said the knife was a “toy” and he didn‘t really mean the threats he just wanted to ”scare” the victim.
“It wasn’t a threat, it was just a joke,” he allegedly told police.
In August this year police were called to Mr Figgins’ house after a friend was allegedly beaten with a metal pole by Mr Figgins.
The court heard the friend had been staying with Mr Figgins and was “rapping” when Mr Figgins allegedly hit him over the head with a metal pole.
On Monday the court heard one of the matters had resolved but Mr Figgins was still taking issue with other matters.
Mr Figgins will appear in court next month for a contest mention.
