Four arrested for alleged southeast Melbourne power tool thefts

Four people have been arrested over a huge alleged stolen goods haul in Melbourne’s southeast, which allegedly included more than 100 power tools.
Frankston detectives raided homes in Mount Waverley, Croydon, Ashwood, Berwick and a Rowville storage facility over the alleged thefts on April 29.
The thefts are believed to have occurred throughout Melbourne’s south east in Carrum Downs, Frankston, Langwarrin and Skye over the past six weeks.
Along with the tools, police seized two firearms, a stolen car and trailer, number plates, two laser hair removal machines, allegedly stolen IDs, and quantities of drugs and cash.
Two Mount Waverley men, aged 33 and 42, a 24-year-old Croydon man and a 39-year-old Berwick woman were arrested over the alleged thefts.
All four were charged with alleged car theft and drug offences, while the Mount Waverley men were charged with alleged weapons offences and allegedly handling stolen goods.
The Croydon man and the Berwick woman were charged with allegedly possessing proceeds of crime.
The four alleged offenders were remanded in custody and will face the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on April 30.
