Five people have been arrested in drug raids on properties across Melbourne’s southeast on Friday. The men are believed to be part of a major drug trafficking syndicate.

Five men have been arrested during drug raids in Melbourne’s southeast.
Police swooped on properties in Springvale South, Pakenham, Patterson Lakes, Drouin and Springvale as part of an ongoing investigation.
It comes just two weeks after 14 people were arrested in police raids on properties in the inner south which uncovered a large commercial amount of meth and cocaine were seized from the properties today, as well as significant quantities of GH, cannabis and precursor chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.
More than 500 cannabis plants were seized, along with a large amount of dried cannabis and cash, with a combined value of about $1.5 million.
The five men, allegedly part of a major marijuana trafficking syndicate, have been charged with a raft of drugs offences, including cultivating, trafficking and possessing cannabis and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Three Springvale men, aged 30 and 47 and 19, have been remanded to face court, along with a 43-year-old Keysborough man.
A 30-year-old Springvale man has been released pending further inquiries.
The arrests form part of an ongoing operation to disrupt a major organised drug syndicate growing and trafficking cannabis.
