A recycling truck has gone up in flames in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs.

Witnesses reported seeing fire engines “fly down” Mcleod Rd on Tuesday afternoon towards the fire in Patterson Lakes.

The truck caught ablaze while on the road heading towards Frankston.

At least two fire trucks attended the blaze, alongside multiple SES teams, who assisted with lighting for the scene.

Firefighters worked to steadily contain the flames, while also emptying the rubbish truck to locate the source of the fire.

SES and Fire Rescue Victoria have been contacted for comment.

More to come.
