A woman has died after a horror smash on the Mornington Peninsula.
The collision between a ute, car and tow truck happened on Frankston-Flinders Road at Somerville about 3.30pm on Monday.
Police believe the car was pushed into a tree and the female driver died at the scene.
A bunch of fresh flowers with a heartfelt message for Kaye has been placed at the accident site.
“Kaye, we love you always and forever,” the note read.
Police have not yet revealed the woman’s age or home suburb.
The male truck driver was taken to hospital for observation and was assisting police with their inquiries.
No one else was injured.
A man living on nearby Deanswood Drive said the noise of the impact was “huge” and would stay with him “for a long time.”
“I didn’t see the accident happen. But the sound shook the windows,” he said.
Others took to social media to share their sadness over the woman’s death and raise concerns about the condition of the “horrible”.
One woman suggested that potholes may have contributed to the accident.
There were no obvious potholes near the crash scene on Tuesday morning.
However, a sign warning drivers of a rough surface ahead was placed just metres from the crash site.
The exact cause of the collision was yet to be determined and police called for witnesses and dash cam footage..
