Eco lodges, Spa Dream Relaxation Centre, massage pods to be built at iconic tourist attraction
It already offers glamping and now Peninsula Hot Springs is creating a new soak and stay option thanks to millions of dollars in government funding.

Eco lodges, massage pods and a Spa Relaxation Dreaming Centre are being built at an iconic Mornington Peninsula tourist attraction.
The unique accommodation is expected to attract up to 70,000 more visitors annually to the internationally recognised Peninsula Hot Springs.
The work, which is the first stage of an upgrade to the Fingal attraction, has been made possible thanks to a $3.3m state government grant.
The money was allocated through the Regional Tourism Investment Fund and announced on Thursday morning by Tourism Minister Steve Dimopoulos.
“The Mornington Peninsula is already one of the most-loved areas for Victoria, with these upgrades and additions set to draw even more visitors to the region – supporting local jobs and businesses for years to come,” Mr Dimopoulos said.
“We’re backing the state’s tourism providers to ensure they can keep doing what they do best, providing unique experiences and drawing thousands of visitors to the state.”
Peninsula Hot Springs chief executive Craig Mitchell said the business was grateful for the investment to further enhance the hot springs experience for visitors.
“I can’t wait to show our guests the new upgrade in 2024,” he said.
Mr Dimopoulos on Thursday announced a second investment in the region, allocating $1.5m to Mount Martha wildlife sanctuary The Briars.
The funds will be used to provide access to an additional 40ha of the sanctuary via 2.5km of connecting paths and boardwalks.
The project is estimated to generate $32.4m to the local economy, with construction expected to be finished by 2023.
Mornington Peninsula chief executive John Baker said the investment would help the sanctuary “reach greater heights”.
“This investment will provide visitors such an incredible way to be up close and personal with our beautiful animals,” he said.
