A man has been charged following an alleged hit-run in Dandenong which left a pedestrian fighting for life.
Police allege the Hallam man was driving a dark-coloured SUV towing a covered box trailer west along Clow St when he struck a pedestrian between Thomas and Robinsons streets about 2.15pm on March 4 and fled the scene.
The victim, a 24-year-old Dandenong man, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A 33-year-old man was arrested about 11pm on March 4 after police released CCTV images of his car in a bid to track him down.
He has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a crash, failing to render assistance and being a prohibited person in possession of an imitation pistol.
He has been bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
