Dandenong Market set to celebrate Diwali festival of lights

COLOURFUL Bollwood dancers and the aromas of delicious Indian street food will spice up Dandenong Market when it celebrates the famous Diwali festival of lights this month.

The Bollydazzlers will add extra cheer and colour to Dandenong Market as it celebrates the Diwali festival of lights.

And the famous food market will add fabulous flavours and aromas of the best Indian street food to its huge multicultural offerings for the event.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS: WHAT IS DIWALI? 

The festival celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

Attendance is expected to beat all previous years and reach 27,000 with traders including Babaji’s Kitchen (South Indian pancakes), Keralan Truckstop Curries, Bombay Bitez (Mumbai Street Food) andT aka Taka (Sri Lankan Street Food) among the culinary delights.

Skiander and The Fifths will join Bollydazzlers to provide entertainment from 10am throughout the day on October 22.

Dandenong Plaza will celebrate the festival on October 14 with a host of fun activities and entertainment, including dancers and roving performers from 11am.
