An ex-army serviceman, charged by the counter terrorism command, has appeared in court.

Jake Schultz appeared in the Dandenong Magistrates Court on Thursday facing a pile of charges relating to reckless conduct endangering life.

It was indicated the matters had resolved but it was not said whether Mr Schultz would be pleading guilty or not guilty.

Wearing a white t-shirt with a silver chain around his neck, Mr Schultz appeared on a video link from prison.

His lawyer Mary Nassar also dialed into the courtroom.

Ms Nassar raised issue with media reporting on the case as she believed due to Mr Schultz’s time spent in the army he had a “right to privacy”.

However Magistrate Jason Ong said it wasn’t a good enough reason and that he had received no official suppression order application.

No other details of the offending were aired in court and the matter was adjourned to next year.
