Dandenong crash: Pedestrian killed near Herbert St, Stud Rd intersection

A man killed in a tragic accident at a pedestrian crossing in Dandenong has been identified after police released a picture of his distinct shoes.

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car in Dandenong.

Police have been told the man appeared in a confused state and was shuffling himself across a pedestrian crossing on Herbert St, near the intersection of Stud Rd, while sitting on the road just after 8.30pm on February 25.

It is believed a car travelling north on Stud Rd struck the man while moving through the intersection on a green light.

Emergency services worked on the 48-year-old pedestrian but he died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and has spoken to police.

The man was identified after police released a photo of his distinctive green-soled runners.
