A bitter apprentice bashed his former Dandenong boss with a metal bar in front of shocked employees because he was angry about getting the sack.
Phillip Dawson launched his violent tirade on HM Gem Machining Services boss Dean Taylor in October last year.
Mr Taylor wanted to discuss with Dawson a plan to help him get through his struggling Chisholm TAFE studies but the hothead flew off the handle.
Dawson refused Mr Taylor’s offer, swearing at him and storming out of his office.
Dawson’s card was marked when he went “toe to toe” with Mr Taylor and pushed him twice in the chest.
“You just lost your job, you’re out of here,” Mr Taylor said.
Dawson collected his tools, shook hands with some work buddies and drove away.
However, he wasn’t done yet and, armed with a breaker bar, he drove back to the Monterey Rd workshop and snuck in to the admin area.
“Where’s Dean Taylor?” Dawson screamed.
“You f****n sacked me you f****n c***,” Dawson said as he came at Mr Taylor at “fast pace”, swinging the bar at his head but missing and hitting him in the back, arms and hand.
An employee tried to wrestle Dawson off Mr Taylor but the bloodthirsty thug drove Mr Taylor through a table before running off and leaving his boss bruised and battered.
Dawson wasn’t arrested until December 29, when he told police he couldn’t remember much about his attack because he was “pretty angry that day”.
Dawson claimed he tried to explain to Mr Taylor why he was having trouble at TAFE but his ex-boss wouldn’t listen so they had a “blue”.

He will next face a plea hearing in front of Judge Anne Hassan on February 27.
