A Finks bikie accused of dealing drugs from a drawer in his Cranbourne East bedroom and linked to a shooting and arson has been knocked back in his bid for bail.

Damon Burriss also allegedly walked down a Frankston street off his head on ice with a loaded homemade gun in his pocket.

The 30-year-old, who proudly displays his ‘1 per cent’ status on Facebook, applied for bail at an online Dandenong Magistrates’ Court hearing on Wednesday.

An armed crime squad officer told the court police attended a Cranbourne East house in February and allegedly found 11.86g of ice, $615 in cash and a Bunnings card belonging to an alleged victim of a shooting in his bedroom drawers.

In the same bedroom police say they found some of Mr Burriss’ personal possessions and his driving licence.

Mr Burriss had allegedly been seen driving a VW as it left the scene of a shooting and arson attack in February, with police saying they found that car at the Cranbourne East house.

Also allegedly found was a stolen BMW motorcycle parked in the back yard.

Mr Burriss is also accused of walking down Young St, Frankston in a drug-induced state while wearing a Finks T-shirt.

He was searched and officers allegedly uncovered a homemade gun which was loaded and cocked ready to be fired.

The court heard Mr Burriss has a significant criminal past including priors for trafficking ice, firearm possessions and a history of ignoring bail and corrections orders.

He had been jailed last year and placed on a 12-month community corrections order for weapons offences and had allegedly reoffended within weeks of being released from custody.

Corrections told the court they believed he was not suitable for another order and requested he be resentenced on the original charges.

His defence lawyer told the court the prosecution case was weak, Mr Burriss had somewhere to be bailed to and his partner had agreed to offer a surety.

But Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg said he had an “atrocious” history and was “a danger to the community”.

“I am very much convinced we are dealing with an unacceptable risk,” Mr Rozencwajg said.

“He was a prohibited person allegedly found wandering the street in a drug-affected state with a handmade gun.

“He has failed to comply with any (court) orders, he has thumbed his nose up at corrections.”

Mr Burriss was refused bail and will appear in court again on April 28.
