The earthquake that rocked Victoria in October could be the reason why one of Mornington’s most popular pools will be closed for the summer.

The 25m heated outdoor pool at Crib Point has been closed since November, with the council saying in a recent statement that it had been unable to maintain the water quality to a satisfactory standard.

According to the council, cracked pipes beneath the pool may have been damaged by the 5.9 earthquake

The council said ‘leak specialists’ conducted sonic testing on the pool last week, adding that until the conclusion regarding the source of the leaks the pool could not open.
