Cranbourne North, Carrum Downs: Two arrested following massive southeast drug bust

Footage captures the moment a Cranbourne North woman was escorted by police after she was arrested for a string of drug and weapon offences.

Cranbourne police were executing a search warrant at Llewellyn Ct for unrelated offences when they allegedly discovered drugs and weapons at a house at about 5.50am on Tuesday.

Meth, butanediol, ketamine and ecstasy were seized as well as two firearms, two knives and several allegedly stolen number plates.

The 39-year-old woman was arrested and charged with a string of offences including trafficking commercial quantities of meth and butanediol, trafficking firearms, possessing prohibited firearms, possess a drug of dependence, handle stolen good and other charges.

A few hours later Mornington Peninsula police allegedly found a trafficable quantity of illicit substances when they were searching a house in Portland Dr in Carrum Downs.

A 20-year-old Carrum Downs man was arrested and charged with trafficking ketamine and ecstasy, possess ketamine, ecstasy and cannabis, possessing prohibited weapons and possessing property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

From the two searches, police allegedly found a total of 135g of meth, about nine and a half litres of 1.4-butanediol, 30 ecstasy tablets, one gram of ketamine and one gram of cannabis, a revolver, a homemade gun, ammunition, two knives, about $7050 cash, stolen number plates and bank cards.

The woman was remanded and is expected to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 9, and the man was bailed to appear at the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on February 16.

Dandenong divisional response unit Sergeant James Frost said police see the dangers drugs and weapons have on the community.

“Every day police see the harm drugs and weapons cause, including serious and violent assaults, road trauma and family violence incidents,” he said.

“The drugs and firearms seized today are now on a one-way ticket to being destroyed without ever causing harm to our community.”
