Clyde car fire classified ‘suspicious’ as the cause remains unknown

The cause of a car fire in Clyde has been deemed suspicious as investigations continue following an evening blaze on two main roads.

A late night car fire in Clyde has been classified as suspicious by police as investigations ramp up into the Pound Rd blaze.

Firefighters from the Clyde CFA unit arrived at Pound Rd near McCormacks Rd at 8.51pm on January 30 finding the suspected a Toyota LandCruiser engulfed in flames.

A CFA spokesperson said the fire was brought under control by 9pm and handed the scene off to Victoria Police.

The spokesperson said nobody was injured and the investigation remains ongoing.
