An alleged thief has been slapped with more than 80 charges after a hoard of tools and construction equipment was uncovered in a raid at Carrum Downs.
Angle grinders, cables and drills were all among the stack of allegedly stolen items seized by Frankston CIU detectives at an Access Way warehouse on Wednesday.
The sting concluded an investigation into a recent spike in commercial burglaries across the Carrum Downs industrial zone, Detective Senior Constable Christopher Fidler said.
A Carrum Downs man, 39, was remanded into custody and faces a total of 81 charges including handle stolen goods, negligently deal proceeds crime, drug possession and bail offences.
A Carrum Downs woman, 22, was issued a caution for drug possession while a 17-year-old Seaford man was interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
“If people approach you with tools to sell or car parts and the deal sounds too good to be true then it probably is,” Detective Senior Constable Christopher Fidler said.
“This is a pleasing result for detectives where we have located a large quantity of allegedly stolen goods.
“We are always interested in information from the public in relation to this type of offending.”
Anyone with information in relation to goods they believe to be stolen are urged to please contact your local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
