A second teenager is expected to be charged in relation to an elderly man being pushed off a Mornington Peninsula pier earlier this week.
Video surfaced late Monday night of a group of young boys laughing as a man, understood to be 79, was pushed into the black waters.
The three teens can be heard egging each other on before one shoves the elderly man, who is standing at the edge of Mornington pier near Schnapper Point Dr.
The trio laughed as the man was sent flying into the dark waters below about 11.30pm on Monday.
A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday night, following a 14-year-old being charged with reckless endangerment and unlawful assault.
“He’s been interviewed, released and is expected to be charged on summons,” a police spokesman said.
It is understood the man could not swim and had to be pulled from the water by another three men on the pier.
He was not seriously injured.
The police spokesman said the man had not reported the incident to police and was believed not to be known by the teens.
At least one of the youths involved in the attack posted a video of the incident over the weekend that has since been flooded with comments from people disgusted by the behaviour.
Both teenagers will appear before a children’s court at a later date.
The investigation remains ongoing.
