Hoons have smashed their ute through kerbside rubbish bins, scattering the contents across the road and footpath of five streets in Carrum Downs.
They also hurled bottles at cars during the destructive spree, which happened about midnight on Sunday.
Residents woke to the crashing sound and found their bins, which had been left out for emptying, strewn on the ground and household waste filling the street.
The speeding vandals drove along Bawden St, Luscombe Ave and Cadles, Brunnings and Dandenong roads on their senseless spree.
One Luscombe Ave resident, who didn’t want to be named, said they were “disturbed by an almighty crash” about midnight but by the time he’d run to his front yard the hoons had already turned onto Cadles Rd.
“I could hear complete destruction. our bins were smashed … we cleaned up the mess on my nature strip and then went for a quick drive and found more on Cadles Rd.
“A young man who also stopped his vehicle to help told me bottles were thrown at his car about 12am.”
On social media, residents jumped to thank Frankston man Sean McKeown, who volunteered to pick up the litter on Cadles Rd before he went to work.
He posted a before and after picture of the job, and mentioned a pair of discarded number plates were found among the litter.

“Cadles (is cleaned) … it was the best I could do in time available,” he said in a post on Facebook.
(These plates) were in the rubbish … they could have been in a bin of course. But it could also have been a stolen plate on the vehicle that did it.”
Frankston City Council said those with damaged bins could request a new one on the council’s website or phone 1300 322 322, and their bin would be replaced within three working days.
Victoria Police said the incident hadn't been reported them.
