Award-winning restaurants, cellar door and sculpture park closed after blaze
Diners fled a premier Mornington Peninsula venue after a blaze forced the popular tourist attraction to be evacuated.

A fire at Point Leo Estate has forced the award-winning complex to close.
Units from Balnarring, Red Hill, Bittern, Shoreham and Hastings attended the blaze at the Merricks property on Friday night.
The entire property, including the sculpture park, wine terrace and cellar door will remain closed until further notice.
General manager Roger Lancia confirmed a blaze had started in a Point Leo Estate building during business hours on Friday.
“We wish to thank our guests who were with us last night for their co-operation and I want to thank and acknowledge our team for their professionalism,” Mr Lancia said.
“All guests and our team are safe and well.”
Mr Lancia thanked emergency services workers for their help.
He said all reservations in all dining spaces from Saturday May 21 onwards were cancelled.

Elsewhere, the County Fire Authority was called to a kitchen fire that caused a pub to be evacuated.
Three fire trucks attended Bridge Street in Benalla, east of Shepparton, about 8pm.
The Royal Hotel was evacuated of more than 100 people and paramedics were called to the scene to treat two kitchen workers.
The fire was deemed safe at 8.36pm.
