Tech giant Apple will reopen its doors across major Melbourne shopping centres after the state government eased restrictions.
Apple will reopen its five stores in Victoria including Highpoint, Southland, Chadstone, Doncaster and Fountain Gate on Wednesday, October 28, on an appointment only basis.
Stores will be open for the pick up of online orders made through the Apple online store and for genius support appointments.
Shopping with a one-on-one session with an Apple Specialist can also be booked online.
Earlier this year, the company’s retail senior vice president Deidre O’Brien wrote a letter to its customers explaining Apple’s approach to reopening stores.
The letter explained some of the health and safety protocols the company has in place including 1.5m social distancing.
Face coverings will also be required for all staff and customers and stores will provide them to customers who don’t bring their own.
Temperature checks will also be conducted at the door, and posted health questions will screen for those with symptoms — like cough or fever — or who have had recent exposure to someone infected with COVID‑19.
Stores are conducting enhanced deep cleanings that place special emphasis on all surfaces, display products, and highly trafficked areas.
