Accused drunk driver more than six times legal limit in Rosebud

An early morning dash to buy cigarettes in Rosebud has cost a 31 year old man $2797. And he’s also facing a day in court.

A 31 year old driver has had his car impounded after being accused of blowing more than six times the legal limit in Rosebud.

The man was pulled over by police at 2.50am on October 14 and told them he was going to buy cigarettes.

He was asked to submit to a kerbside breath test and was then taken to Rosebud Police Station where he allegedly returned a positive breath alcohol concentration of 0.316.

His car was impounded at a cost of $1145 and the man was also issued with a $1652 infringement notice for breach Chief Health Officer (CHO) directions.

He will face Dromana Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
