$165,000 Audi stolen from Kilburn Grove, Mount Martha by four armed men

A Mount Martha man was lucky to escape serious injury after confronting four men who forced their way into his house in the middle of the night.

Police are investigating a frightening Mount Martha home invasion that led to the theft of a $165,000 car.

The attack began at 1.30am on Wednesday when two men tried to force their way through the front door of a Kilburn Grove home.

A 50-year-old man confronted the offenders before running to the nature strip at the front of the property.

He was then attacked from behind by another two men who hit him with an unidentified weapon.

The victim received minor injuries.

The four offenders then entered the home where they stole keys to a 2020 Audi RS4 wagon, registration BLA824.

They were last seen heading south along Kilburn Grove in the stolen Audi which is yet to be recovered.

Detectives are appealing for help from anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or may have driven past at the time and have dashcam footage to come forward.
