A “beautiful” young mum who unexpectedly died in her sleep has been remembered as a “passionate mother”, with her tragic death coming days before her partner had planned to propose.

So far more than $8000 has been raised in an online fundraiser for her funeral costs.

Ms Arnott’s best friend of 18 years Trish Scarlett told the Herald Sun she had “really shone” as a mother to her three young children, all aged between seven and 11 months.

“She always dreamt of being a mum and when she became one it was like second nature for her and her kids are an absolute tribute to how she was as a person,” Ms Scarlett said.

“Her becoming a mum was all we ever spoke about as kids and for her to become a mum it was so beautiful to see.

“She loved her kids with so much passion and would do absolutely anything for them. To see her really flourish in that role was something I was really proud to be witness to.”

Ms Scarlett said the pair became lifelong friends after an iconic meeting inside a sand pit where “Ruby found some cat poo and we started laughing about it”.

“I’ve always felt as though she was my person in this place and been through so many ups and downs. I lost my mum five years ago and she was my rock through all of that,” Ms Scarlett said.

“She was just an absolute magnet when she was out and about and very true to who she was and had so much personality. She was definitely unique in everything she did and owned it so well.”

One of their favourite rituals included singing the theme song to popular Disney cartoon Phineas and Ferb on the way home from school every day.

Ms Scarlett said she has felt “lost and lonely” without her best friend.

Ms Arnott’s tragic passing came days before her partner, Korey, had planned to propose to her after booking a weekend away for their anniversary.
