A hearing has started into allegations a Melbourne chiropractor raped and sexually assaulted female clients during consultations over eight years.
Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch, the former director of Chirolife in Rosanna, is facing nine charges of sexual assault including three counts of rape.
A five-day hearing to determine whether he will stand trial began in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
Deitch, 58, indicated during an earlier appearance in August last year that he would contest the charges, which relate to three women.
Dr Deitch allegedly sexually assaulted the women between 2013 and 2021.
Dr Deitch is accused of digitally penetrating women and touching their vaginas without consent.
Charge sheets state the chiropractor also allegedly touched a woman’s breast and nipples, rubbed his clothed erect penis on her head and kissed her without consent.
Dr Deitch owns and operates Markwell Nutrition which sells magnesium supplement Colozone Plus.
