Pre-Anzac Day services and commemorations to be held across Melbourne suburbs
THERE are many local commemorations being held across the suburbs in the lead-up to Anzac Day — here is a list we have compiled.

THERE ARE many local Anzac commemorations being held in Melbourne suburbs in the lead-up to Anzac Day. We have compiled a list of what is happening across our city:
SATURDAY, April 18
The Yarraville RSL will lead a march, starting at Anderson St at 10am, from Yarraville station, past the cenotaph, to the Yarraville Club.
The Werribee RSL is holding a march at 2pm from Wyndham Cultural Centre, 177 Watton St, Werribee to the cenotaph. There will be a wreath laying ceremony followed by afternoon tea at the Werribee RSL Sub Branch, Kelly Park, Synnot St.
The Maroondah Brass Band will give a special concert at Karralyka Centre, Mines Rd, Ringwood from 7pm.For tickets emailLynne at mail@maroondahbrass.com.au
SUNDAY, April 19
Boronia, a commemorative march starting at 2pm from Chandler Rd (the back entrance of Kmart).
Ivanhoe, at 2.15pm from the library car park, a march to the soldiers’ memorial, corner of Studley Rd and Upper Heidelberg Rd, with a ceremony starting at 2.45pm.
Watsonia RSL at 10.30am, Walora Rd and Cherry St, Macleod.
Glen Waverley, at 9.45am at the cenotaph, Kingsway, service conducted by Waverley RSL.
Caroline Springs, a march starts at 11am from Slices, 2 Lake St, to the Caroline Springs War Memorial in The Parade. A short service and guest speakers will follow the march.
Ringwood, a march starting at 10am, Target Square, Ringwood. Commemoration service to follow at Ringwood Clocktower, 11am.
Blackburn RSL will hold a commemorative service from 2.15pm with a parade starting outside the IGA supermarket on South Pde, Blackburn. Box Hill City Band will accompany the parade on a march to the Morton Park Memorial, where a service will be held. This will be followed by a presentation at Blackburn RSL at 3.15pm by historian David Holloway.
Springvale, a march at 10am, leaving from the corner of Springvale Rd and Union Grove. This will be followed by a commemoration service at the War Memorial at 10.20am. School students will be performing their own Anzac tribute, telling the story of Simpson and his donkey. Morning tea in the Town Hall.
Preston, the Darebin RSL March will begin at the corner of High and Pender streets at 10.30am and will end around 11.30am at the Preston cenotaph.
Epping, gather at 9.30am cnr of High and Coulstock streets, Epping, with march to start at 10.30am
Reservoir, a march, starting at the corner of Harbury and Edwardes streets at 11.15am and finishing at the cenotaph in Edwardes St for a commemorative service.
The Oakleigh-Carnegie RSL sub-branch will hold a march and commemorative service on Sunday, April 19, at the Oakleigh cenotaph, corner of Drummond St and Atherton Rd. Begins at 10.15am before the 10.30am commemorative ceremony.
WEDNESDAY, April 22
Endeavour Hills, at 11am at the memorial outside the shopping centre on Heatherton Rd.
Bundoora, a ceremony at Health Bundoora Extended Care Centre, 1231 Plenty Rd at 10.30am.
THURSDAY, April 23
Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, 10am, an observance in the Remembrance Garden, enter at 300 Waterdale Rd, Heidelberg West.
