Police were forced to use stop-sticks to help bring to an end a wild chase across Melbourne’s suburbs involving seven teenagers and two stolen cars.

Southern Metro Crime Team officers were on patrol when they spotted a white BMW wagon with stolen plates speeding on the Monash Freeway in Dandenong about 2am on Friday.

The air wing quickly tracked the vehicle to Narre Warren, where a grey Mercedes joined the BMW, allegedly doing speeds of up 150km/h

A Victoria police spokesman said the BMW was dumped in Mullum Mullum Tunnel in Ringwood, where the and occupants from the BMW jumped in the Mercedes.

“Stop-sticks were successfully deployed in Heidelberg, but the car continued travelling on two wheels towards the Eastern Freeway in Kew,” he said.

The Mercedes finally came to a stop, and police arrested the seven teens

Police allege the BMW and Mercedes were stolen during recent aggravated burglaries.

All seven teens arrested are assisting police with their inquiries.

“No one was injured during the incident,” the police spokesman said.
