More than 3000 talented students have had the experience of their lives in the return of the State Schools Spectacular after a two year break.
Thousands of proud parents, friends and teachers watched on as the giant stage show took over John Cain Arena for two shows on Saturday.
This year’s production included two acts of entertainment including music, dance, giant puppetry, skating, acrobatic and circus acts.
The event – which was a virtual event in 2020 and cancelled last year due to Covid-19 – is an annual highlight for many performing arts students, and included participants from 200 state schools.
Eight students from Knox’s Fairhills High School were part of the mass dance troupe, and had learnt seven routines over the past six months.
Prior to Saturday’s first show, Year 11 student Mia said couldn’t wait the hit the stage.
“We’ve been rehearsing since February, we’ve got our dances down and we’re gonna have some fun,” she said.\
Fellow troupe member Zaydah, in Year Seven, said the performance would be the biggest of her life.
“I’ve been dancing every since I could walk, and it feels like I’m opening a new chapter of my life performing in front of so many people,” she said.
