Yea crash: Man flown to hospital after Melba Highway collision

A driver has been flown to hospital after he lost control and crashed into an embankment on the Melba Highway, with the impact causing his car to flip onto its roof.

A man has been flown to hospital after he lost control of his car and crashed into an embankment on the Melba Highway in Yea, causing his car to flip on its roof.

The crash happened about 6.15am Thursday near Webb Wares Rd, with Melba Highway closed while emergency services attended the scene.

Police believe the male driver in a Subaru RX sedan was travelling along the highway when he lost control and crashed into an embankment, with the impact forcing the car to roll onto its roof.

Police said the driver, a 63-year-old Yea man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was flown to hospital for treatment.

The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.

Ambulance Victoria said the man was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
