Step out of 2024 and into your Grease-garage dreams with this 1950s style garage in the Yarra Valley.

The Woori Yallock Motors at 295 Old Warburton Hwy has been sold by Ray White Lilydale for $560,000 in one of the areas most “unique sales”.

The rare opportunity was snapped up last week, with the new owners able to enjoy the Yarra Valley gem in all its glory.

With enough space to build a residential property at the back of the garage, the possibilities are endless.

The garage sits on just 160 sqm of the 3160 sqm property, with scenic views of the Yarra Valley.

Marketed as a shell for any new business endeavour, the garage will most likely remain in its current evolution, but potentially has a future as a residential property, according to agent Graham Reynolds.

“We did target the automotive market, given that it’s been a garage for the last 25 years,” he said.

“Ultimately I think it might end up as a residential property, given the amazing views the property has.”

Mr Reynolds revealed the previous owner had been a mechanic with a penchant for Hot Rods, but had sold the unique workplace to retire.

“The garage functioned as a spot for general servicing, of course, but the previous owner had also imported specialty car parts from the US as well,” he said.

“We didn’t sell the property as a business though, it was just the building itself.”

Mr Reynolds said other eccentric elements of the property included the “iconic” wooden floor.

“Not many mechanical workshops anywhere would have a wooden floor,” he said.

“It’s pretty unusual for that kind of business, definitely not something we’ve seen before anyway.”
